We had a great day yesterday. We went on two appointments for possible service work. First was Mokolodi Game Reserve.
Here we learned about what Mokolodi does, which is a lot of education to kids on conservation, nature and animals. In addition they offer services to take people out on the reserve. As part of our appointment we got to go out on the reserve and take a tour. It was like a safari! We met with Peter who was from Massachusetts and who came out in a Barack Obama supporter shirt. Really funny guy. On the Safari we went around in a little safari truck and drove all the way up to World's View.
The view was breathtaking! You could see out over Mokolodi and parts of Gaborone. We then continued on and made several stops, one by a lake, one to look at camping, and then many stops to look at animals of course. We saw impalas, the cheetah enclosure, wart hogs, ostridges, a crocodile, some snakes, and some injured animals that they were treating.
They also have hippos and elephants but we didn't see them. It was all amazing! We are going back Thursday to see an education presentation.
We then went to the Tlamelo Project in Old Naledi. This is a feeding project for kids in the slums area of Gaborone. We walked into the project area, and were just trampled by kids. They all wanted to jump on our backs, hold our hands, hug us, and just be held. They were gorgeous with their big brown eyes and beautiful smiles. They just made your heart melt. One little boy was 3 and he didn't say anything to me, he just held on to my pinky and wouldn't let go. He even followed me to the meeting we had with Champ. We are going back all day tomorrow and can't wait. We are also going to tour the Old Naledi Education Center to possibly volunteer there as well.
Things are going very well. It has been a week that we have been gone now, and I feel a tad homesick, but that was expected. Talking with Chad, parents, and friends has helped a lot. It feels good that people back home are thinking about us in Africa. I know we are all thinking about them. Miss you all.

I am glad that you mentioned me. Something that I didn't ask you was, was there any giraffes (sp)? It all looks amazing and I am looking forward to seeing all the pics here together so you can explain them all to me.
